Sony Out Performs Nintendo And Microsoft In Brand Trust Survey
Forrester Research shows Sony ahead of Microsoft and Nintendo in trust and potential

A recent report from Forrester Research show that consumers place more trust in the Sony brand then they do in Microsoft and Nintendo.
In Forrester’s analysis, the Sony brand gained the highest marks of the three gaming companies. Overall Sony earned an overage of A plus on the in the report, with Microsoft receiving a grade of C and Nintendo earning a respective B.
In the chart, you can see the dramatic difference between the three brands. Both Sony and Nintendo are clustered together around the middle of the pack, with sony experiencing higher trust and potential. Microsoft is given considerably lower trust and potential which would suggest the company will struggle to gain the trust of the consumer over its CE and PC products.
It will be interesting to see how these figures will chance once the Sony PS3 and Nintendo Revolution are released.
From the study:
• "Microsoft faces big consumer defection risk. One measure of consumers' dissatisfaction with Microsoft is seen in the 5.4 million households that give it a brand trust score of 1 [distrust a lot] or 2 [distrust a bit]. Compared with all Microsoft users, these at-risk users have higher income, are much more likely to be male, and are bigger online spenders.(see endnote 7) These households know they run Microsoft software but would be just as happy to leave it behind — if they could."
